International Peace Day

Today, the 21st September, is International Peace Day.

The United Nations General Assembly established this day in 1981 to commemorate and to advocate for a world of peace and love for all.

Looking around at our world, natural disasters, wars and other things ravage people's lives. 

Humanity cries out for unity.

Humanity cries out for humanity.

Our hearts grieve when others are suffering through no fault of their own. 

The theme for International Peace Day 2017 is “Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All.” 

When we stand together, we are strong, safe and powerful.

In such turbulent times, there is no more appropriate moment for this day to be held. In a time where we seem to have more differences than in common, there is no more apt reminder that we share the same air and that we share the same Earth. 

In more micro terms, peace starts with us - yes you right there. If only we can be still and be at peace with ourselves then we can pass it on to those around us. 

"where there is chaos, change follows"

Chaos tries to seep in to create fear and havoc. Instead, place peace in our hearts and our minds.
