Monday Musings #33
One of the reasons why we are so afraid of speaking our minds is because of our fear of other people’s reactions. Even though our point might be valid and we want to say, our perception of what others think holds us back.
‘Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind’ ~ Dr. Seuss
This classic quote from Dr Seuss sums it up really well because it is so true!
I think that getting comfortable in ourselves is part of our personal development as we grow older and mature – and part of that is due to the people we surround ourselves with.
If you think about it, if the people around you judge you for what you say or think – should you be around them in the first place? They will only fuel your insecurities and potentially exacerbate them which is why the people you hang around with are so important as I’ve spoken about previously.
The people who love you for who you are will always back you in every situation and therefore you are entirely comfortable in expressing yourself around them.
Never let what you think other people think stop you from pursuing your passions as what others think of you is completely irrelevant to how you live your life!
